We use different network service provider connections to ensure that problems on one line will not detrimentally effect the connectivity to a customer site. When a primary line outage occurs, the router seamlessly fails over to the backup line and work continues unaffected. These backup lines can be setup based on any of the following technologies:
- Secondary BT broadband backup line
- Secondary non-BT broadband backup line
- WiMAX backup line
- 3G data backup line
The type of backup line implemented depends on the criticality of the business connection being used and the flexibility needed.
Automatic Failover
With an Coms Direct business continuity solution you can setup your network for automatic failover should your primary internet line go down. This requires no manual intervention as the routing system simply realises when a connection is lost and switches to the backup line seamlessly.
For some circuit technologies there might be a need to switch over a few cables but still, it’s easy!
